How to Edit Counts, Lines, and Areas
Use this workflow to edit counts, lines, and areas. Use a specialized artificial intelligence tool when it matches the drawing. Complete the related project setup first.
Complete the task
Section titled “Complete the task”- Open the applicable project page.
- Select the tool named in this article.
- Choose the required page or measurement.
- Enter or select the required options.
- Review the result.
- Save or add the accepted result.
Exclude several measurements from Takeoff
Section titled “Exclude several measurements from Takeoff”Use bulk exclusion for saved measurements that you want to keep but omit from Takeoff calculations. Review drafts do not support this canvas action.
- Select several saved measurements on the canvas or in the sidebar.
- Right-click the selection.
- Select Exclude From Takeoff.
Bobyard excludes every selected measurement. If the selection contains included and excluded measurements, the menu shows Exclude From Takeoff.
Include excluded measurements again
Section titled “Include excluded measurements again”- Select the excluded measurements in the sidebar.
- Right-click the selection.
- Select Include in Takeoff.
The menu shows Include in Takeoff when every selected measurement is excluded. Bobyard includes those measurements in Takeoff calculations again.
Cut an area and fill it with a material
Section titled “Cut an area and fill it with a material”Use Cut & fill with Material to assign part of an area to another material. Use a plain cut when you need an empty cutout. Cut & fill requires a saved measurement; it does not support review drafts.
- Select a saved polygon area measurement.
- Open the scissors menu.
- Turn on Cut & fill with Material.
- Select the material from the list.
- Select Cut with polygon.
- Click at least three points around part of the area.
- Press Enter.
Bobyard saves the cut and material fill together. A cut that misses the area or removes the whole area makes no change.
Bobyard remembers the last fill material for each project in this browser. The material stays selected after a reload. The material stays selected after you turn Cut & fill with Material off and on. If you delete that material, select another material before you cut. Recent materials stay near the top of the list.
